I recall being introduced to Avon products at a young age. For years, my go-to roll-on deodorant was Avon’s Feelin’ Fresh with the green top. Shortly after becoming a frequent customer with my Avon Lady, I decided to step out and sell Avon myself.
Dating myself here, but at that time, before the world was digitized, I started selling Avon through word of mouth to friends and family. I passed out flyers at local businesses, sorted customer orders that were shipped directly to me, hand-delivered customer orders, dropped off new brochures—including to those who had not previously placed an order—stopped by to collect orders, and then repeated the process.
Although, by my definition, I was successful as an Avon Independent Representative (now also referred to as an Avon Ambassador), I gave up on my Avon business when I unexpectedly stumbled upon a career opportunity in the field of education that offered a very nice, competitive salary and full benefits. This job ultimately helped shape my career in education, so I have no regrets. However, I often wonder, “What if I hadn’t quit Avon?”
Fast forward to today: I have a Doctorate in Education and over 25 years of experience in the field of education. I am grateful for my journey but have always felt a little remorseful about not having something of my own. Welcome, Avon!
I have always loved Avon products and lately have really been missing my Feelin’ Fresh roll-on deodorant, Skin So Soft shower gel and body lotion, and the entire Anew cleansing line. If you have ever tried these products, you understand! When I searched for an Avon Representative near me, I quickly noticed the $0 fee to start my Avon business. For me, it was a no-brainer to rejoin Avon and enjoy products free of animal testing. In addition, I reward myself when I order products I love to use every day!
